Medicare Educational Information
Part A (Hospital Insurance)
-Covers hospital stay, skilled nursing facility , hospice care and some home care.
-Most people receive Part A at no cost if they have paid 40 quarters of Medicare taxes. If the 40 quarters are not met there will be a monthly fee, to find out more contact social security.
Part B (Medical Insurance)
-Part B helps cover medical and preventative services that may diagnose or treat a condition.
-There is a monthly cost for Part B which depends on your income.
-Medicare Supplements (Medigap) plans help pick up costs not covered by original medicare.
-Deductibles, coinsurance or co-payments.
-Medicare supplements give you the freedom to go to any doctor that accepts medicare assignment.
-Medicare Advantage plans are considered Part C coverage.
-They have Part A, Part B and Part D combined together.
-Most advantage plans are HMO based and only allow a person to see specific doctors within a network.
-Helps cover outpatient prescription drug costs.
